Island  Christian Academy (ICA) is committed to building
a strong  Biblical, spiritual,  moral, ethical, and academic foundation in students  in preparation for any endeavor into which God may lead them. The  school is committed to creating in students an awareness of their  significance and value to God, thereby instilling in each student a  desire for high standards and excellence in every aspect of life.

The family-like atmosphere Island Christian Academy seeks to foster  and currently enjoys is due in great measure to the similarity of  biblical convictions and principles taught and lived out in many of the homes of our students. As the Lord blesses us with growth and change, we  want
to do all we can to maintain and build up that atmosphere.

Our policy on admission attempts to reflect the philosophy of our  school. Each applicant is
encouraged to visit our school before  enrolling. We desire to enroll students who will show care and concern  for others in our school community as well as a demonstration of  enthusiasm for the learning process. Students seeking admission are  evaluated on the basis of their report cards, standardized test scores,  interviews and potential to perform satisfactorily at ICA. Students
entering grades 2-12 must provide copies of recent standardized test  scores and a current report card with their application. Academic  testing may be required  following the interview. Students should be in  good standings in their current school. The first six weeks is considered a trial period for all new students.

The basic process for new applicants is as follows:

1. March 1: New applications will be
dispersed and completed applications will be collected. Date of  application will be recorded, but will not be a consideration in  acceptance.

2. Interviews, school visits, and  requisite documentation related to each new student will be evaluated.  Students may need to be tested academically.

3. April 1: Notification of acceptance or  denial will be mailed to each applicant. Accepted applicants will  receive all appropriate information for preparing for school, including
financial arrangements. If applying after April 1, notification will be  mailed within two weeks of the completed application process.

A student’s academic achievements will be considered in the  application process, but only
for grade placement, not as the primary  determinant for acceptance. Again, we are seeking to enroll those  students who, because of their own families’ priorities, will most  benefit from what Island Christian Academy can offer to them.
Island Christian Academy admits students of any race, color,  and  national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs,
and   activities generally accorded or made available to students at our  school and does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, and  national or ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies,  admissions policies,
scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and  other school-administered programs.
