What a great day to go back to school! Nice and cloudy..a little drizzle...feels just like a school day on Whidbey! Now that we have those first day butterflies out, hopefully we'll all settle easilyt into the new routine.
There are several details in the attached MT document, but one I would like to especially bring to your memory is that tomorrow is a half day, and half days now end at 12:30 so we can utilize the public school bus service on those days. Just in case you missed the rational for this calendar change last spring, I'm attaching the document to this email if you would like to further understand the reasoning.
There are two other beginning of the year events where we request the honor of your presence. They are as follows:
Back-to-Schol Night - Tuesday, September 13 6:30-8 pm. This is your opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of how your student's classroom will function this year. For those of you who have multiple students at ICA, we are offering each teacher's presentation two times. The junior high and high school parents will have combined meetings in room 101 (lunchroom). The schedule will be as follows:
6:30-7:15 First presentation in all classrooms
7:15-8:00 Second presentatino in all classrooms
You need only attend one of the two sessions for each student enrolled. In order to have the most productive meeting possible, we ask that you not bring children with you to this event.
Fundraiser Meeting - Tuesday, September 20th 7:00-8:00 pm. This meeting gives you all the details about this year's auction. At least one parent will need to attend to pick up your auction packet and find out all of the details for this year. This is our one big fundraiser for the year, so in order for it to be successful, we need everyone to be fully engaged. Please plan to attend, UNLESS, of course, you choose instead to pay the $1000 opt out fee (which you are welcome to do).
Thanks again for entrusting us with your precious children. May it be a fantastic year at home and at school!
