ICA provides the following opportunities for enrichment and personal development:
MUSIC
Music is incorporated weekly chapels as well daily lessons in PreK-2nd grades as they sing and chant their way to learning.

Students and staff also meet each Monday morning before classes and Friday afternoon before dismissal to honor God through song and commit our week to him in a brief time of prayer.

ART
Each elementary-level class incorporates art lessons into their weekly or bi-weekly curriculum with the help of our art docent and parent, Laneen Carr.

HOUSE SYSTEM
Each student who enrolls at ICA becomes a member of one of four ICA Houses.  Each quarter, students are encouraged to grow personally by completing assigned quests in four growth areas (spiritual, social, mental and physical).  They also compete three times per year in house games.  Each activity adds to their house and personal point total.  Awards are given quarterly.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Each house elects two members to represent their house on the student council, which meets regularly to plan events and practice leadership skills.
ELECTIVES WEEK
Each year between the 2nd and 3rd quarters, ICA hosts four days of classes presented by our staff, parents of ICA students, as well as various members of the Whidbey community.

During the four-day Electives Week, each student in grades 3 through 12 chooses four electives out of a pool of 18-20 choices, and attends the same four classes each day for one hour.

The PreK-2nd grades also participate by inviting presenters to come to their classrooms to demonstrate and teach them as a class.
We also encourage our students to take advantage of Whidbey Island's thriving arts and activities community.  Click on the blue button links to get more information on how your child can get involved in local sports leagues and classes.
