Can you say “jai alai”? Can you spell it? We have at least three 7th graders who can! Yes, today was the day of our annual Spelling Bee and the competition was unrelenting. Two tenacious third graders stayed the course through several arduous rounds. By 3:15 we were down to three sapient students who had correctly spelled through our entire list.
Tomorrow we will start fresh with a list of words they have not studied and come out with one school champion who we will cheer on to the Regional Scripps Spelling Bee. If you want to observe, we will begin at 1:10 in the gym.
Here is a list of winners class by class. The top two places were able to participate in the final championship round followed by the presentation of awards.
