It seems our weather is heating up just in time for a flurry of year-end events! In celebration of a year well spent in diligent study, students of all ages are about to head off on various educational adventures.
The PreK and K are going to be visiting the marine lab at Ft. Casey
1st-2nd grade have a game day planned at Mrs. Baalke’s community grounds
3rd-4th grade had a recent outing to the Burke Museum
5th and 6th grade are planning a day to test their knowledge of the animal kingdom at the Woodland Park Zoo
and the Jr. High and High School are headed off for three days of touring in the San Juans!
In addition, the hard-working House of Distinction will be headed to Vertical World in Everett on Friday, June 5th to celebrate their conquest. The race is close enough that ANY house still has a chance at the title. Quests and all other point opportunities must be submitted no later than midnight on May 29th.
Friday, May 29th - All-School community service day at the fair grounds! 1-3 pm. We need parents from every house to help chaperone.
Monday, June 8th, will start with all-school clean up, but the balance of the day (starting at 11:00 am) will be a school-wide field day sponsored by the Student Council. They will even be serving a picnic lunch!
Tuesday, June 9th, the last day of school at 10:00 am, we will all cheer on the kindergarten class as the walk the aisle and turn their tassels. Following that, we will distribute our year-end awards and thank the fantastic above-and-beyond volunteers who help enrich our school all year long. At 11:00, we’ll honor our four ICA high school graduates and send them on to life with plenty of encouragement and congratulations. Parents are welcome to attend, and students are dismissed for the summer when the festivities have ended or 12:15.
Re-Enrollment packets: Typically we send out all the forms to update for the next school year in August, but this year we are feeling especially efficient, and would like to get that paperwork out of the way before you even leave for summer break. That will save us some postage, and you an August trip to the school. So next week we’ll be sending home those packets to families that have re-enrolled and asking you to return them before the last day of school.
We would like to be able to offer a vanpool to Coupeville and Greenbank residents this fall. You'll find the proposed rates and details attached to this email. Please let me know if this is of interest to you.
