Twenty one more days of school, but of course no one around here is counting! The beginning of summer vacation is, indeed, drawing near and I would like to give you a clear picture of some of the events that surround our school’s year-end traditions.
After Memorial Day weekend, which includes a half day on Friday the 27th and a non-school day on Monday the 30th, regular classes continue through Thursday, June 9th. After that, the scheduled year-end events commence:
Friday, June 10th – The House of Distinction Field Trip. The House with the most overall points has the privilege of spending the day on their very own field trip/play day off campus. The destination is yet to be determined for this year, but the winning house will be announced by June 6th. FYI: You’ll notice on the Fourth Quarter Quest forms that the deadline indicated is the 13th, but quests turned in after June 6th won’t count toward the House total for the year. So think June 6th.
Sunday, June 12-Tuesday, June 14 – Secondary (JH/HS) year end field trip. This year Matt and Barb Chambers, who have been leading this field trip for 25 years, along with the always-ready-for-adventure Mrs. Wilmoth will be whisking our secondary students away to the Port Angeles area. They will spend two nights and three days visiting featured locations in Neah Bay and the Port Angeles area. Information sheets and permission forms will be out soon.
Monday, June 13th – Elementary Game Day. This day features plenty of outdoor team and individual games as well as an outdoor lunch. Students are asked to bring their lunches, and we will eat them picnic-style outdoors weather permitting.
Tuesday, June 14th – School clean-up day. Students will spend part of this day helping to tidy up their classroom and get the school ready for summer deep clean and painting.
Wednesday, June 15th – Last Day of School
