This past week was busy around the ICA campus as documented in these photos!
Science Fair was the focus of student nerves Tuesday. Adjudication was completed by 12 well-qualified judges. You can see a list of award winners on the attached Message Tuesday. I believe we may have a few future science experts among us!
The week culminated with the clothing bag brigade on Friday that passed all 5,190 pounds down the stairs and into the Clothing for a Cause truck! They will be sending us a check for over $1000 just for collecting people's unwanted clothes for resale or recycle! What a simple way to raise money! The class contributing the most bags of clothing outside of their own home contributions is Mrs. Ballke's 1st/2nd grade! They will be receiving a class party of their choice in the next couple of weeks. Thanks to all who participated in making it a great race!
Saturday 15-20 ICA parents and students joined with members of the SWAG congregation for Spring Clean-up. Together the parents, students and staff from ICA contributed 71 hours of work. Each hour invested in ICA helps keep tuition costs down. Thanks a million!
And still to come...
This Friday houses will compete in the quarterly house games. The Student Council has also declared this Friday ICA Nerd Day. Everyone is encouraged to dress in house colors and as a nerd for double points! The point totals are close, and these games will determine which house reigns for 4th quarter.
I’m quite sure teachers and students alike will welcome the break next week, launched with the Easter holiday. It’s my favorite Sunday of the year, and I sincerely hope you’ll find a place to celebrate the resurrection with a group of believers. If you don’t have a home church, you would be most welcome join the church family at SWAG, who generously host our school in their facility. An invitation is attached with all the details.
May your holy week be blessed!
One more thing! I've also attached a flyer (available on our website under "Visit Our School") for an event for parents and their PreK students who may want to consider ICA for kindergarten next year. It's called "Let's Play School" and it is happening the week after Spring Break. Pass it along if you know of anyone who may be in that position!
